Smiles From the Heart
(A program of the dental society's charitable foundation)
In late 2010, the San Fernando Valley Dental Society created its foundation in response to the increasing demand by low-income residents in need of dental care caused by the loss of a job, no dental insurance and/or cuts to public healthcare programs.
Our mission is to remove the financial barriers to dental care for the underserved members of our community. There are no costs to those accepted into the program.
Through our network of volunteer member dentists, we provide free dental care to meet the oral health needs within the communities of the San Fernando, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valleys. Our doctors do not receive any compensation for their efforts and the foundation pays for all supply, material and lab fees that are required.
We provide dental treatment to our community’s most vulnerable populations, including the homeless, undocumented and uninsured.
